The Softmount 12.7 is SIMA Innovation’s newest development, designed to be used as a recoil absorber for the widely deployed Heavy Machine Gun – 12.7 mm Browning M2.
When placed in the Softmount, the precision of the weapon is significantly improved, leading to faster target acquisition and ammunition savings.
The recoil absorption makes vibration almost absent, easing the impact on the gunner and preventing heavy wear and tear on the equipment supporting the gun. The Softmount has been upgraded and improved with integrated handles, including a trigger grip and a safety switch placed on the right side.
Ergonomic workstation for the gunner
The shoulder support, together with the trigger system and handles, provides the optimal ergonomic workstation for the gunner. This important feature is further enhanced when integrated with our motorised Ringmount solution, operated by a joystick placed on the Softmount, allowing the operator to maintain a continuous grip on the weapon.
The Softmount is an extremely flexible, recoil-absorbing gun mount that can be installed on a broad variety of platforms.
