Ringmount RM900AL-ES

RM900AL is SIMA Innovation’s largest Ringmount. It is designed Special Operations Forces (SOF) and their open vehicles. It has an electric motor and is operated by a small “tumb joystick” and has a brake to avoid undesired traverse. It can also be operated manually in case of emergency.

RM900AL is SIMA Innovation’s largest Ringmount. It weighs 105 kg and is designed Special Operations Forces (SOF) and their open vehicles. It has an electric motor and is operated by a small “tumb joystick” and has a brake to avoid undesired traverse. It can also be operated manually in case of emergency.

The Ringmount is electric and driven by a one hand-operated joystick. The “one finger” operation controlled by a joystick attached to the Softmount/weapon allows the gunner to turn the turret 360° in less than 10 sec without losing grip on the weapon. The motor has adjustable speed which allows the gunner to track a moving target even if own vehicle is on the move.

A brake has been integrated into the gear to prevent undesired traverse. In case of emergency the gearbox can be disengaged, allowing manual turning.

RM900AL-ES is designed as a common Ringmount solution that is especially valuable to SOF. It can be integrated easily and directly on a large variety of vehicle platforms or using our tailor-made Ringmount Installation Kit (RMIK).

The Ringmount is designed to give access to mount a variety of weapons, including:

  • 12,7 mm HMG,
  • 7,62 mm MGs,
  • 40 mm AGL in recoil-buffered mounts,
  • Dillon M134 mini gun or similar.
  • P20

Additional accessories – such as a spare barrel holder –  can be fitted with the RM900Al. It is designed without Gunner Protection Kit to keep weight as low as possible – and because it is mainly mounted on open vehicles.

As weight is a paramount issue our Ringmount is made primarily in aluminum keeping the weight as low as possible and thereby optimizing mobility and operational capability.

The motor is powerful enough to turn the turret on a steep slope. A brake is integrated in the gear to
prevent undesired traverse.

Cleaning is easily performed with air pressure. No greasing is used preventing dirt and dust to accumulate in the bearing

On request the Ringmount can be electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) modified.

NB: The Ringmount can also be ordered in a manual version, which weigh 85 kg, and comes with a gear and a breake, to prevent undesired traverse. It can be upgradet to an electric Ringmount at a later stage.
